Day-by-Day Tour Itinerary
Every day is planned with realistic driving times and daylight safety in mind. You have full control to adjust daily stops and timing with your personal chauffeur.
Airport / Colombo Arrival to Sigiriya via Dambulla Caves
Your designated English-speaking chauffeur-guide warmly welcomes you at Colombo Airport (CMB) or your Colombo hotel. Depart along the E04 Central Expressway, passing lush coconut groves and emerald paddy fields.
Arrive in Dambulla. Explore the UNESCO Dambulla Royal Cave Temple complex perched atop a 160m granite outcrop, housing over 150 serene Buddha statues and ceiling murals dating back to the 1st century BC.
Check into your boutique resort in Sigiriya or Habarana. Enjoy a refreshing king coconut or dip in the pool as tropical sunset skies illuminate the Sigiriya monolith.
Sigiriya Rock Fortress & Medieval Polonnaruwa Ruins
Ascend the 1,200 steps of King Kashyapa's 5th-century Sigiriya Rock Fortress in the cool morning air. Admire the water gardens, the celestial maiden frescoes, and the giant Lion Gate paws before taking in 360-degree jungle vistas.
Drive to the medieval kingdom of Polonnaruwa (UNESCO). Marvel at the Royal Palace, the Lotus Bath, and the monolithic granite Gal Vihara Buddha statues sculpted with jaw-dropping precision.
Option to take an open-top 4x4 Jeep Safari into Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park to witness hundreds of wild Asian elephants gathering around ancient reservoir tanks.
Spice Highway to Kandy & Sacred Temple of the Tooth
Depart Sigiriya towards the highland hill capital of Kandy. Stop at an authentic spice grove in Matale to discover cardamom, cinnamon, vanilla, and cocoa growing naturally in tropical soil.
Arrive in Kandy. Visit the Sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa) beside scenic Kandy Lake, followed by a panoramic overlook drive to Kandy viewpoint.
Continue along the scenic highway back to Colombo International Airport (CMB) or your Colombo/Negombo hotel for your outbound flight or ongoing travel.

Everything You Need to Know
What time should we start on Day 1 from Colombo Airport?
We operate 24/7. Whether your flight lands at 6:00 AM or 1:00 PM, your private driver will be waiting in the arrival hall. If arriving in the afternoon, we adjust Dambulla Cave Temple to Day 2 or 3.
Is climbing Sigiriya Rock suitable for children and older adults?
Yes. The climb takes 1.5 to 2.5 hours round-trip with secure railings and multiple rest platforms. We strongly recommend climbing early at 7:00 AM to avoid midday tropical heat.
Can we customize the drop-off location on Day 3?
Absolutely. We can drop you off directly at Colombo Airport (CMB), a hotel in Colombo or Negombo, or drop you in Kandy if you plan to catch the scenic train to Ella.
